Directions:
Draw an uppercase and lowercase letter on two different cards. For example, write a upper case "A" on one card, and a lowercase "a" on the second card.
Repeat with all the letters of the alphabet. You and your child can now decorate the index cards by either drawing a word that starts with the letter on each card, use stickers or magazine cutouts.
For the letter "A" you could draw an airplane or an apple, a bee for the letter "B" etc.
Make sure you do not draw or write anything on the back of the index cards.
To play lay the cards, letter side down, on a table, or the floor. Take turns turning two cards over. The goal is to find matching letters like "A" and "a".
When you find a match, you get to keep both the cards and get another turn.
The person with the most cards at the end of the game wins.
When you first start to play this game, I suggest using no more than 10 card pairs. You want the game to be fun and give your child a sense of accomplishment.
